In this day and age, it’s all about the latest and greatest. It doesn’t really matter what you’re talking about -- movies, shows, video games -- society is obsessed with staying up-to-date with the latest cultural trends. This, sometimes, makes it easy to overlook the old dog that has been quietly learning new tricks.Take soap opera *Days Of Our Lives* for example, which has been holding down daytime television since 1965\. The show is in the midst of its 53rd season, with more than 13.3K episodes in its history.

**So, in a society that is constantly chasing the new shiny thing, how does *DOOL* do it?**Well, it comes down to one simple thing… People LOVE this show. In fact, since the start of the year the average airing evokes 3.6X as many love reactions on Twitter compared to other daytime series (according to emotion measurement company [Canvs](https://www.canvs.ai/?ref=tvrev2beta2.ghost.io)). And most important people love the characters, who spark 9.4X as many reactions than personalities on other shows.

*(Fans love DOOL like Joey Loves Chandler.)*With this type of loyalty from fans, it’s no surprise that they took home [five awards at the 45th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards](http://variety.com/2018/tv/news/daytime-emmys-days-of-our-lives-good-morning-america-1202791579/?ref=tvrev2beta2.ghost.io).And I know what you’re thinking, with more than 50 years of fans eyes being glued to the tube on a daily basis, this must be an advertisers dream. You’re right, *DOOL* has already generated more than 5 billion ad impressions this year, according to TV attention and conversion analytics company [iSpot.tv](https://www.ispot.tv/?ref=tvrev2beta2.ghost.io).The way things are going, *DOOL* is going to outlive us all.
